Junior High Survival Day

Madrid Junior High students participated in a "Survival Day," hosted by Boone County naturalist Katie Healy and coordinated with JH science teacher Jenny Clayworth and PE teacher Whitney Boaz. Mrs. Clayworth and Mrs. Boaz have worked with Boone County Conservation in several cross-curricular lessons this year, expanding knowledge of science & physical activity into our nearby parks and natural spaces.

Students participated in shelter building, fire building, fishing, wildlife identification, hiking, and participated in an abstract-thinking & poetry writing activity. Thanks to Katie Healy, the parent volunteers and the teachers who led the stations!
